The Kepodang offshore gas field in the Muriah PSC is around 200 km northeast of Semarang in Central Java Province. Development comprises a wellhead tower tied to a central processing platform, both unmanned and controlled remotely from an onshore receiving facility. Under a contract with PGN, gas is transported via the 201 km Kalimantan-Java (Kalija) Phase I pipeline for industrial use and power generation in Semarang. In September 2019, PETRONAS ceased production from Kepodang and transferred its 80% interest in the PSC to partner Saka Energi Muriah Limited (SEML) in early 2020. Saka restarted production in February 2021.
